Introduction to Socially Engaged Mysticism (Candidacy)
September, 2024 to January 2025
Online
Join us this Fall for our Introductory program, which we call Candidacy. Candidacy is the first step towards joining our new monastic community, but it's also a great way to introduce yourself to our methods of prayer and teaching in engaged mysticism.
Over the course of four months, you will:
Engage in a study of the life and work of Howard Thurman, and the connection between contemplation and justice
Write your own spiritual autobiography
Meet monthly with fellow contemplatives for practice and conversation
Experiment with our methods of contemplative prayer, lectio divina, and more
Learn about our new monastic community
Join us and see if this is a good fit for you and the starting point of joining a really beautiful community of practice!
